BIOGRAPHY: First doctor in Canada to use anesthetic.(?) Gazetted as a licentiate of Upper Canada June 4, 1834. Early education received at Caen, France. Graduated Univ. of Edinburgh in 1833. Moved to Canada 1834 and then served as surgeon in one of the battalions in 1837 and after the rebellion, settled in Hamilton. He soon moved to Niagara but moved to Toronto in 1858. L.R.C.S.
